Special Effects Makeup

Sarah got into makeup in 2023, on a music video for Uchikatsu she was helping direct. By her own account she was not good at it yet.

Mike at Darkside saw that video and asked if she wanted to learn airbrush so she could work the haunt. She started that October, taught herself most of it, and got the rest from Shane McGowin.

She has been at it ever since. Wounds, gore, prosthetics, airbrush, anything that is not meant to look human.

Megan started teaching herself makeup in tenth grade, pulled in by how completely it can change a person, not just how they look but how they come across. What she liked was getting to decide who that person was going to be.

That was years of teaching herself before any formal training, working out what holds up and what does not.

She has worked on films, music videos, photoshoots and other productions since, with a range that runs from beauty and glam through to character and editorial. She builds a look to suit the person wearing it and the story it sits in.
